Stone Mountain is located in the eastern part of Dekalb County and is an outer suburb of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. It was host to some 1996 Olympic Games events and is home to Stone Mountain. Stone Mountain is the site of a famous giant carving commemorating the military leaders of the Confederacy, as well as a state park and museum, including a tourist railroad. The City of Stone Mountain is also home to the ART Station Contemporary Arts Center and Theatre Company as well as the Stone Mountain Arts Incubator Program.
